With the re-opening of the Getting Traffic section, I'll start with a common method that everyone just doesn't get right.
Introduction To SEO & Blogging
So you have yourself a blog. However, now you don't know what to do with it in order to gain more traffic. Typically, most people assume that they just need to promote their website everywhere. By posting your blog on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, etc, this does indeed gain you more traffic. While this is true, this isn't what will get you that goal of 10,000 clicks a day on your adfly links.
So, How can you get over 10,000 clicks or more? Well, It isn't simple, and it requires hard work and dedication. If your a lazy person and don't want to spend month and months or even years on building your website, then stop reading now. What I'm about to tell you is a method that not only myself, but other internet marketers who make over 5 figures a month do each and every day. Its called SEO (Search Engine Optimization). No payments are necessary to using this method.
Your goal is to get your website/blog on page 1 of google for a "rich" keyword. So for example, say you went to google and search for "how to cook chicken." Did you know that over 40,000 people search for this each and every day? Imagine if you had a website about making chicken and it happens to be the first result that shows up on google. 75% of people will always click on the first listing in google. That means you would be getting around 30,000 visitors per day. You do the math
I will teach you how to get your blog in such a situation. Moving on.....
Keyword Research
"how to cook chicken" isn't a "rich" keyword. What I mean by "rich," or we could call it a golden keyword, is the keyword needs to have the following:
Low Competition - Unfortunately, the keyword "how to make chicken" has a lot of competition. Probably not the best keyword to use. To find a good keyword, you need to spend several hours to come up with one. People make the mistake of just looking at numbers and determine that its a good keyword. That's not the case.
Relevance - Is your keyword relevant to your site? If it isn't, visitors will lose interest in your site.
Traffic - You don't necessary need a lot of traffic for a keyword, but you need to make sure its enough to spend days on. In my opinion, if a keyword only gets you even 1000 visitors, its worth spending hours making a site on.
Commerciality - Assuming your page 1, rank 1 of google with a huge amount of traffic, while its true you will get a decent amount from adfly (adfly isn't the only thing you can take advantage of a blog with traffic ^_^), you don't want a site where people aren't interested in buying anything. For ex. If your keyword is "how to do a drift," would people be willing to look at offers, ads on your site and buying something related to drifting? Probably not.
So the question becomes, how can you find such keywords? Just to let you know, you can't get it from the top of your head. It requires hours of research, maybe even days. However, a single software has lowered the time it takes for us to do our research. You can download the software HERE (You need adobe air installed on your computer for this to work. And just like that, once you master this software and go though the tutorials, you are official a pro at keyword research.
Wordpress & Keyword Density
See links below on a guide on how to use wordpress. Wordpress is an easy site builder that is worth looking into.
In your blog, google determines your ranking by sending whats called "bots" to your website. They crawl your website looking for keywords that appear a lot on your blog, they take a look at keywords you set in the options, image text, etc. In order to get google to recognize you and rank you on page 1 for a certain keyword, your keyword needs to appear multiple times on your blog. "how to make chicken (and I repeat, not the best keyword to aim for, this is just an ex)" needs to be repeated in your blog multiple times. But don't repeat it too many times or google might think its nothing but spam. There is a plug-in for wordpress that can determine your keyword density. You can just google such plugis.
BACKLINKS
YES!!! This is where it starts. This is what will determine your position on google. Please see an indepth tutorial using the links below on backlink tutorials
to put it simply, the more your domain name url appears on other peoples sites, the higher you rank. So for example, lets take a look at thekitchn.com. If you google "how to make chicken," that site will appear at the top. Its at the top because a lot of other websites linked back to it. Lets say I made a post on my blog about how to make chicken. I would add a link to re-direct people to thekitchn.com to learn more. That is a backlink. Its only 1 but it gets you closer to your goal.
Important things to take note of - A backlink on a site that has a high ranking will rank you higher then having backlinks at several thousands of sites with low rankings. Make sure you focus on quality, not quantity.
So how can we get more backlinks? Simple, make A facebook account, add your blog url to it and you made a backlink.
Make a youtube account. Add your url in the video description and you made a backlink
Create not only a wordpress blog but also a bloggers blog, a wiki, a tumbler and add your url to these places.
Linking to web2.0 profiles, forum profiles, signatures, article directories, and much much more.
And most important of all, comment on blogs and leave your url in the "name" area. There are software that will help you get thousands of backlinks in a single day, but I advise you to focus only on quality. Get backlinks where it counts, on high PR sites (page rank).
Quality Content
An example of a website with quality content would be the MS tutorial below or my blog. You need content that people are going to be interested in. Some things you should ask yourself:
1 - Is your blog worth visiting again?
2 - Would visitors stay at your blog for a decent amount of time?
3 - Do you provide enough info to where people would subscribe to your blog
Some things you should avoid:
1 - Making your blog about money and spamming affiliate links. This is actually a turn off.
2 - Using nothing but text after text after text. It would get boring and your audience would quickly lose interest
3 - Plagiarism. Never copy and paste info from someone elses site. Google will De-rank you if you do this.
Some things you should do every day:
1 - reply to comments
2 - Add content every day so people will keep visiting
Remember, Quality over Quantity.
Great ways to lower your google rank
The last thing you want to do is get pushed down in the google ranking. The following you should try to avoid:
1 - Putting affiliate links on your website. If you want to post affiliate links, please add rel="nofollow" to your html code. Please google for more information
2 - Avoid too high of a keyword density in your blog
3 - Very little text. Make sure you have at least 500 words on your posts/sites
4 - getting backlinks from spammy sites, adult sites, gambling sites, etc
5 - Avoid back linking with nothing but your keyword. Make sure your backlinks look natural (continue reading for more information)

Linking naturally is simple. Google determines your ranking based on how people share your website. How do most people share your site? They will share it on facebook, twitter, and other sites by linking your url to it.
ex - Best search engine around is google, check it out - http://www.google.com ----> this is how most people share links.
However, on a blog, I may have something like Visit Google for more information. Google is the alt text hyperlinked to google.com. This is a more high quality backlink.
However, lets take a look at this example - google is the best Search Engine. This is the most powerful way of having sites point to your site. They linked back to a site with your keyword hyperlinked. This however is not how a lot of people point to your site. If you have hundreds of backlinks like this, google will determine that its not natural and de-rank your site off their search engine.
Link Pyramids - Just watch this youtube video on how these work. Link pyramids are very powerful and will substantially increase your google ranking. Here is a video on how to make link pyramids. Note that making link pyramids by means of automation will cost quite a bit.
